Basco ta Jolokia (born 10 September 1995), human, is a student at Nintendo High and part of the Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger as Gokai Black. He is a cynical and distrusting member of the group who has a history with Marvelous.

Appearance[]
Basco is a well built young man with shoulder length dark brown hair and dark brown eyes. While not wearing the school male uniform, Basco wears a large long sleeve green shirt with a brown sting on the collar with another sting around his waist as a belt. Underneath his shirt, he wears red pants and black boots. Over his shoulders, Basco wears a red blanket-like cover with a white fur line.
Personality[]
Basco is the polar opposite of Marvelous in almost every respect. Though he retains a thirst for treasure and determination to get what he wants and all of Marvelous' pirate cunning.
Powers & Abilities[]
Basco was the one of the first people when they were chosen by Zordon, he didn't believe that they were meant to save the world. However, he quickly accepted his new role and believes that just his team will be fine without the other two. In battle, he uses the Gokai Sabre and Gun.

Ranger Key[]
The Gokai Black Ranger Key is Basco ta Jolokia' personal Ranger Key which allows him to transform into Gokai Black. Prior to the start of the story, he origin of the Gokaiger Ranger Keys is unknown, though it can be assumed Zordon, having brought technology from his world, had a role in their creation.
As with the other Gokaiger Ranger Keys, this key is commonly used in the Gokaigers' Ranger Key-compatible arsenal and mecha for different functions and attacks.
Trivia[]
- Though there was no Gokai Black in the original series, Basco's role as Gokai Black is based on the rumors during the series run that Basco would be a Gokaiger.
- While the others have counterparts from previous Sentai teams, it is unknown if Basco has any counterparts, though unlikely.
- It is unknown if his Rapparatta and his ship, Free Joker, will appear though very unlikely.
